Zambezi Airlines to launch twice weekly flights to Lilongwe
The flights are being launched a time when the tourist season is about to re-open and will make it easier for tourists to combine a holiday at the popular Lake Malawi and a visit to Zambia’s worlld famous Victoria Falls or one of the game parks.
He added that the direct flights between the two countries would also greatly facilitate trade between the SADC and COMESA member states.
Mr. Macdonald also explained that the new flights would make it convenient for Zambian and Malawian nationals who have long standing fraternal ties to exchange regular visits.
The flights will be operated by Zambezi Airlines’s modern Boeing 737-500 series aircraft which are configured for 12 Premier Business Class and 99 Economy Class seating.
“The new flights should be viewed in the overall context of our commitment as Zambezi Airlines to ease travel for business people and tourists, within the SADC region,” the CEO stressed.
The flights will be launched just a day after the airline inaugurates thrice weekly flights between Lusaka and Nairobi ,scheduled for 2nd March.To be operated in conjunction with Kenya Airways,the Nairobi flights will enable Zambezi Airlines to issue tickets for travel to the rest of the world where the Kenyan flag carrier and its Skyteam alliance partners operate to.
NEW ROUTE LAUNCH
Lilongwe to Lusaka and Dar es Salaam
We are pleased to announce the launch of flights between Lusaka and Lilongwe and between Lilongwe and Dar es Salaam, in partnership with Air Malawi, effective 10Mar10. Zambezi Airlines will be operating our Lusaka to Dar route via Lilongwe on Wednesdays and Fridays, on our Boeing 737-500 aircraft. The Monday Dar flight remains direct between Lusaka and Dar. Lilongwe-Dar sales are subject to government approval.
ZJ fares and fare rules will be as filed in GDS. Baggage allowance will be as per normal ZJ policy.

Harare to Lusaka and Johannesburg
We are pleased to announce the launch of flights between Lusaka and Harare and between Harare and Johannesburg, effective 28Mar10. Zambezi Airlines will be operating daily between Lusaka and Harare and daily ex Fridays between Harare and J’burg, on our Boeing 737-500 aircraft. Harare to J’burg flights are subject to government approval.
ZJ fares and fare rules will be as filed in GDS. Baggage allowance will be as per normal ZJ policy.

NEW ROUTE LAUNCH
Nairobi to Lusaka
Zambezi Airlines (ZJ) will operate scheduled flights thrice weekly from Lusaka to Nairobi which will connect directly onto London, Paris, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Beijing with Kenya Airways.
Our launch of Lusaka-Nairobi flights in partnership with Kenya Airways has been delayed until the 28th March 2010, due to regulatory approvals.

ADDITIONAL FLIGHTS
Ndola to/from Johannesburg – addition of Tuesdays and Thursdays
We are pleased to announce the addition of services between Ndola and J’burg on Tuesdays and Thursdays, effective 28Mar10. Our current mid-day flight between Lusaka and J’burg will be routed through Ndola. This rotation allows for a later departure on ZJ234 J’burg to Lusaka on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (from 17:30 to 18:50).
We are pleased to announce the launch of Children Fly Free promotion on all Zambezi Airlines operations except Nairobi. This promotion is valid on all return travel through to 31 May 2010 with a blackout period over Easter. For each paying adult, one accompanied child fare is free. Airport taxes and fuel surcharge will apply to the child ticket.
